Helpful Tips for your session..

About your Colon:

The Colon, also known as the Large Intestine or Bowel, is a tube shaped muscle that is 5-6 feet in length. It’s function is to reabsorb fluids and process waste in the body and prepare for its elimination. Waste that is left over from the digestive process, passes through the colon by means of peristalsis (the wavelike contractions that push the contents thru the bowel). As the stool passes through the colon, water is removed and eventually empties into the rectum creating a movement. It can take up to 36 hours for stool to get through the colon and ideally, one should have as many movements per day as meals.

If you are having less frequent movements or way too many, feeling gassy/bloated, tired or low energy,  it may be a great time for some Colon Hydrotherapy!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the session like?

The session is a comfortable, private process, with a professional, well trained practitioner. A gentle flow of water enters the colon using a disposable speculum kit. Peristalsis is activated and then water and waste are released.

How often should I get a Colonic?

Each person is unique, with different health history and lifestyle, and these will be discussed at the session to help determine.  It is definitely not a 1 time session though, as the colon is 5-6 feet long and depending on the lack of hydration and/or accumulation of waste, each session varies.

What preparation is helpful for each session?

Consider avoiding processed foods several days prior to a session, as well as dairy, gluten, and meat.

Drink plenty of water always but especially several days prior.

If you have not had a bowel movement for several days prior to your appointment, please consider an over the counter herbal stimulant( laxative like smooth move tea) and/or CALM (a readily available magnesium source found at most health food stores) prior to your session. Coming in severely constipated can lead to a crampy, uncomfortable session.

Not eating/drinking 2 hours prior to your session makes for an easier session.

Take all medications as directed.
